May 13, 2024 - MAACE 2024 Conference!

Join us at MAACCE's 2024 Conference on Thursday, May 16th, to discuss best practices learned in the field of adult education. Tiffani Ross and Rudi Jeung will be leading a workshop at MAACCE to discuss the development of their Centering Learning Voices Program, which includes learner focus groups, learner surveys, and a learner leadership group in their workshop titled, "Let's Talk about Learner Feedback." April 17, 2024 - MCAEL 9th Annual Spelling Bee

On April 16, 2024, MCAEL celebrated our 9th annual Grown-Up Spelling Bee to support Adult English Language Learning! The Bee conveyed the impact of – and need for – English language learning opportunities in our region. As we heard from our People, Power, and Potential Award winners, learning English is life changing. Congratulations to our winning team, BGE, who’ve taken home the trophy two years in a row! And to our inspiring honorees: ESOL instructors Andy and Chris Lawrence, Ethiopian Community Center Executive Director, Hermela Kebede, and Lisa Yost of Tenleytown Lawn & Landscape. We were delighted to celebrate them and their incredible contributions to the English language learning community.

We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of Cecilia Rojas, longtime Program Director for MCAEL partner Community Reach of Montgomery County and founding member of MCAEL’s Board of Directors. Cecilia has made an indelible impact on thousands of English language learners over the years and on Montgomery County as a whole. Congratulations!
