Volunteer Beginning Literacy/Low Beginning Instructor

Do you enjoy working with immigrants and love teaching English? Look no further! Join the Briggs Center ESOL Program as a volunteer instructor this summer. You will be paired with a student looking to learn English. You and your student will find a time that works best for the two of you to meet, two classes/week, 1-1.5 hours/class (2-3 hours total/week). If both of you are vaccinated against COVID19, you are welcome to meet in-person at the Briggs Center or elsewhere. If you and your student are not vaccinated, classes will be online via Zoom, Google Meet, FaceTime, or other online platform. Please email Stacey Fannon, ESOL Program Director, at csfannon@gmail.com if you are interested and/or if you have any questions.

Located in Bethesda, MD, the Briggs Center for Faith & Action is a 501(c)(3) charitable and non-sectarian religious organization created in 2006 out of the former Briggs Memorial Baptist Church upon the reorganization of the church. We enlist, empower and involve people who share a passion for social justice and a common purpose of serving the disadvantaged and marginalized.
