Proclamation for AEFL Week 2020

On September 22, 2020 in recognition of National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, Councilmember Will Jawando and the Montgomery County Council presented a proclamation to MCAEL recognizing our work in advancing ESOL.

The Montgomery County Council honors individuals, residents, movements, groups and organizations worthy of acknowledgement. Kathy Stevens accepted the proclamation on behalf of the coalition. Kathy stated “ESOL is critical for our economic recovery and continued well-being. It’s crucial that residents have the skills they need to achieve their goals.”

MCAEL knows a healthy, vibrant community is one where all community members have the opportunity to fully participate, access community resources, and thrive. English language proficiency is an important building block for the well-being and security of individuals and families in Montgomery County.
