MCAEL Seeking ESOL Instructors for Winter Workplace-based ESOL Classes

Summary:  One of the main obstacles to adult learners taking ESOL classes in Montgomery County is scheduling classes around busy work schedules.  To allow more learners to avail themselves of classes, the Montgomery Coalition for Adult English Literacy (MCAEL) is increasing access to ESOL classes by bringing them to the workplace for employees.

MCAEL is currently seeking instructors for 2019 classes. Instructor’s responsibilities include planning and teaching classes on the premises of each organization, assessing learner progress, and reporting learner outcome data to MCAEL.

Qualifications:  Education in TESOL or related field (MATESOL or equivalent preferred); at least 3 years of teaching experience using a learner-centered approach; knowledge of second language acquisition and principles of adult learning.

Timeframe:  20-week session starting January 2019

Anticipated Instructional Time:  Two days per week on weekdays during the day; each class will run 1.5 hours.

Rate:  $25 per hour

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  ASAP

For consideration, please submit a resume and letter of interest to instructor@mcael.org.   Resumes will be considered as they are received.
