Save the date to BEE there

MCAEL is proud to announce the Second Annual Grown-Up Spelling Bee for Adult English LiteracyCatch the Buzz and mark your calendars now.  Join MCAEL Staff, Board, Providers, Instructors,  community leaders and some of the coalition’s 15,000+ adult learners to raise money for and awareness about literacy in Montgomery County, MD. 

We once again congratulate Holy Cross Hospital, last year’s champion.  Will they t-r-i-u-m-p-h again this year ???  Cheer on the teams that are competing in an adult spelling bee.  Sponsors with teams thus far include: Montgomery College, Adventist Health Care, Lee Development Group, and Montgomery County Department of Economic Development, to name a few.  For sponsorship & team opportunities, please contact Kathy Stevens, kstevens@mcael.org.

Shirley Brandman, Montgomery County Public Schools, Board of Education Member will be this year’s word pronouncer and our celebrity judges will include:

·        Stewart Edelstein,  Executive Director, Universities at Shady Grove

·        Ginanne Italiano, President & CEO, The Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce

·        Suzan Jenkins, CEO, Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County

·        TBA – an adult English learner

The fun includes a cocktail reception, audience spelling competition, and much more.  Plan to bee there.  Tickets will go on sale after January 1, 2015.
