MCAEL seeks Grant Panel Members

The Montgomery Coalition for Adult English Literacy (www.mcael.org) is seeking professionals passionate about literacy to serve on the MCAEL Community Grants Panel in the spring of 2012. Grants will support programs for fiscal year 2013 (July 2012 - June 2013). The panel consists of nonprofit professionals, business leaders, education specialists, and community representatives from around and in the Montgomery County area. (Note: Individuals who are in leadership roles - e.g., staff members or board members, etc - in literacy organizations in Montgomery County or those who otherwise have a conflict of interest are not eligible)

To apply, please request an application from program@mcael.org . Please email with any questions. Deadline for application is February 22nd, 2012.

This is a wonderful opportunity for those who are interested in literacy; want to strengthen their own grant writing or learn more about grant processes; are interested in networking with professionals and/or who have a strong desire to build a 21st Century Montgomery through literacy!

"Without MCAEL, we’d be duplicating efforts and maybe not doing [our work] very well.  I’m so impressed by the people of all ages and backgrounds who are involved.  We all have a commitment to help people learn English, so they can function in the community and within families."
